RC Lubowa will undertake a 5-year project, 'Beyond the Tree planting' which involves working with the Youth in finding ways to sustain the environment. On 9th November, the Club and Interact Club in formation joined to hunt for seeds and pot them ready for the 25,000 tree nursery bed at Grace High School. This looks at activities beyond the tree planting, The Club wants to engage the youth in learning how to look after the environment, by learning the different species of trees and their uses, learning how to hunt for the seeds and pot them ready for the nursery and/or planting, get economically empowered by managing their own nurseries in their communities when they sell the tree seedlings e.t.c In this activity, the students were very enthusiastic about the different types of trees and the seed hunting activity. Later they potted 2200 tree seedlings ready to be transferred to their School nursery.
