RC LUBOWA WASH GLOBAL GRANT PROJECT - IN SUAM
RC Lubowa to provide a gravity-flow water system and hygiene promotion for 4,800 people in Suam.
Area of Focus: Water, sanitation, and hygiene
Overview
Detailed description
The project intends to construct a water source 3.1kms away from the community. This will be a brick and mortar tank (intake) at the source, and will be sealed with a pre-cast concrete cover. The 90mm diameter High Density polyethylene pipes shall be laid from the source to the 5,283 gallon community storage tank at Kapkoros Trading Centre. Because the water source flows constantly, service reservoir shall be installed at the end of the main pipe to balance the volume produced with the varying demand. From the reservoir, safe clean water will then be distributed through 42mm High Density Polyethylene pipes by gravity to stand taps in areas of Senendet, Amanang, and Kwirot all in greater Suam, Bukwo District.People from the three areas specifically from villages of Senendet, Amanang Central, Cheboi, and Kapukobor won’t have to walk the long distances anymore to the existing contaminated river Suam. This project will serve 4800 people in 5 villages.
